My Equipment

My equipment Starting off with (a part of) the studio showing various synthesizers and ofcourse some Jean Michel Jarre wallpapers. In the middle you can see the autographed copy of the 2010 tour book. Signed by Jean Michel and Francis Rimbert. Introducing the synthesizers: Access Virus Ti The Access Virus Ti is a very robust multi purpose synthesizer. It is very flexible in use, easy to understand and to create your own sounds. The synth is software driven, so it is backwards compatible with earlier models. The Firmware is regularly updated, and new features arrive with the updates. The keyboard is very nice to play so I also use it a lot as a master keyboard for other synths and software synthesizers. Roland D-50 The Roland D-50 is used a lot by Jean Michel on the Revolution album. You will instantly recognize patches like Machine Run, Alien Cam, Ocean Scenario, Yamatano Orochi and Motor Orchestra. Roland JP-8000 The JP-8000 is a very nice multi-purpose synthesizer. It feels a bit cheap, but it has a wonderfull sound. I have had a lot of help from the downloadable patches of jarrelook.co.uk, the Jean Michel Jarre tribute band from the UK. This synth is used in most of my covers. Roland JV-30 The JV-30 is a very simple digital synthesizer. It is comes in very handy when standard sounds and noises are required. Since it is digital a string just sounds like a string nothing more nothing less. The sound I love and use most is the Synth Bass. Yamaha S-30 The Yamaha S-30 (don't mention the keyboard, it is just the wireless keyboard for my laptop) has some very nice sounds in the Performance bank. I use it most for the very full-sounding strings (performance patch A-15), like in Chronologie 4. Clavia Nord lead 2 A very elemental synthesizer, very flexible if you like to make your own sounds. For me it's strong points are the bass sounds. Spectrasonics Omnisphere Power Synth Omnisphere is a remarkable software synthesizer. The name Power Synth is really right. It has very powerfull sounds and noises. It comes with 100's of sampled and synthesized sounds which are fully adjustable. For now I use it a lot for voice oohs and aahs. Other sound related equipment Alesis SR-18 Drum and percussion machine. It is a very nice drumcomputer. Although for a performance it sounds a bit weak. It has a rich choice of sounds and styles but it does not meet my requirements, I have to replace it sometime by some more sophisticated equipment. Roland SP-404 A very flexible sampler. Can be used as a rhythm machine, and even as a drum computer if needed. You can record your own sounds, but only via audio-in, I would have liked an usb port to upload new samples.
